Child tasks get created when a specific task is created or completed. This configuration is used for tackling the kind of cascading approval process that typically occurs in an expense-approval or deal-approval process. For example if a deal with a discount of more 20% is submitted for approval, a second level of approval may be needed.

In that scenario, a child task may be created on task completion, when the completion action is 'Approved'.

The Condition setting would check for a discount > 20%, and take the appropriate action when it is.

Settings

• Title - Display-name for the child task
• Create child task on:
  • Task Creation 
  • Task Completion
• Condition
  • Always - Create child task unconditionally.
  • Match All - Create child task when all of the specified field comparisons are true.
  • Match Any - Create child task when any of the specified field comparisons are true.
  • Expression - Create child task when the specified expression evaluates to true.
