For Designers

Designers create the automated processes, or streams, that are operational from the moment they are published.

To do that, designers:

  1. Define processes
    • Assign tasks, send messages, and carry out other activities, step by step.
    • Define branch conditions to vary the flow depending on the situation.
  2. Define the data components that store information.
  3. Customize the forms that are used to display information from and add information to the data components.
  4. Define nested data components--for example, so an Expense Report can contain multiple line items.
  5. Add intelligence to data components with fields that let you:
    • Email fields that let you sent a message to one or more stored recipients
    • Phone number fields that can be used to send a text message
    • Formulas fields that display values based on other fields.
    • Automatically count the number of nested documents, or calculate sum, max,
min, or average for values they contain.
    • Attach images and documents to the stream record--images that the end user can draw on,
for example, and documents they can sign.
  6. Define templates that specify the formatting to use when sending an email or printing a record.
  7. Specify the roles that users can have in the system, and use those roles to assign tasks,
in addition to assigning them to specific individuals.
  8. Specify profiles that govern data access and operational privileges, and assign those profiles to users.
  9. And do much more…
