Can the HR Team initiate a LoA for someone who is unable to access the request form?
Yes, you can. You do it by creating a new process data record.
For a new absence: From the Home page, go to the Leaves tab. Click New. You are now looking at the same form you would see when Reviewing the Request, but in this case all of the fields are blank. Fill them out and press Submit. At that point the process continues just as it would if a request had been submitted by the employee and reviewed by HR.
If there is any doubt about the type of leave in question, make your best guess as to whether it is a one-time continuous leave or whether it is the start of an on-going intermittent leave. The medical certification you receive will make it clear, and after which you can edit the leave-of-absence process record.
For a subsequent absence in an on-going intermittent leave:
From Organization > Employees, go to the employee record
Choose the Intermittent Hours tab
In the Absence For field, choose Treatment/Appointment or Episode of Incapacitation.
Fill in the Hours Out value and date.
If needed, click Get Eligibility Guidance
For Decision, choose Approved, Denied, or Approved with Exception. (For the latter, choose the relevant Intermittent Certification from the dropdown list, and give a short description of the reason.
